After receiving notice that the local East Moriches School District was planning to build a Buddy Bench and was looking for parents to donate time to help build the bench; Vitale Building Company stepped in to donate the materials and build a bench that the school would be proud of. A buddy bench is a simple concept that has been adopted by educators around the world. The purpose of the Buddy Bench is to eliminate loneliness out at recess by inviting those students who do not have someone to play with, to sit on the bench. Others playing, notice if someone is on the bench and then will go invite that child to play with him/her. It was an honor and pleasure to provide an fantastic element to our local elementary school.
